Fri 4:17pm: Man says friend stabbed him

WARREN — A city man told police he was stabbed in the arm by a friend while at work at a store on Parkman Road N.W. on Monday.

Brian K. Calkins, 37, of Folsom N.W., told police his friend was playing with a pocket knife and “then without warning ran at him stabbing him in the arm,” according to a Warren police report.

Calkins didn’t report the stabbing until Thursday, telling police that it was captured on store surveillance cameras. He told police he went to St. Joseph Health Center for treatment and received three stitches. The police report indicates he suffered apparent minor injury.

Police advised Calkins to speak to the city prosecutor’s office about the possibility of filing charges.
