Mon. 2:15pm: Area universities to receive trauma grants

COLUMBUS – Fines collected from seat belt violations will help to improve trauma patient care and enhance emergency medical services in Ohio.

The Division of EMS and the State EMS Board recently approved annual grants to several agencies, including Kent State and Ohio State universities.

Kent State University is set to receive $81,445 for research on traumatic injury patients and their families.

Ohio State will receive two grants, one for geriatric-related research and another for research on air medical service in rural parts of the state, for a total of $55,691.
