Mon. 1:12pm: Patrol ramps up enforcement on I-80
COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is teaming up with other law enforcement officials from California to New Jersey to increase enforcement along Interstate 80.
Dubbed “I-80 Cross-Country Crackdown,” the initiative to ramp up enforcement of life-saving traffic safety laws during one of the busiest travel times of the year.
According to a release from the patrol, from July 24 to July 31, it and other law enforcement officials in the I-80 corridor will crack down on crash-causing violations such as speeding and impaired or aggressive driving.
The goal is to have no driving fatalities during those eight days.
