Wed. 12:34pm: Former library clerk gets 30 days in theft

WARREN – A former clerk / treasurer of the Kinsman Free Public Library was sentenced this morning on theft charges.

Sharon Vankenegan, 47, is scheduled to begin serving 30 days in jail on Sept. 25 for one count of theft in office, one count of misuse of credit cards and four counts of forgery.

She also must pay

She previously agreed to repay $6,990 – the amount an audit shows was stolen from the library between August 2010 and January 2013. Assistant county prosecutor Chris Becker said Vankanegan used a library credit card at Sam’s Club to buy beer and other items.
