Sun. 11:05pm: Program offers perk for homeowners

WARREN – Residents interested in buying Trumbull County Land Bank-owned lots may be eligible for a little help.

Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, Huntington Bank and the Trumbull County Land Reutilization Corp. have launched a program in which a $10,000 grant from the bank will be used to provide the Lowes gift cards to the property owners.

“We are thrilled with this partnership,” Marissa Williams, TNP’s community planning coordinator, said. “It allows us to offer something to residents to support the improvement of adjacent vacant lots. Many of our residents have already been maintaining these lots for some time, so this is a great opportunity for them.”

Trumbull-area homeowners already can buy side lots through the land bank for a frontage fee and legal costs, with a maximum total cost of $500. TNP manages the disposition of residential property on behalf of the land bank, including side lots.
