Mon. 2:30pm: Bazetta man indicted in boy’s death
WARREN – A 33-year-old Bazetta man had been indicted on murder and child endangerment in the death of his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son.
The Trumbull County grand jury today returned the indictment against Scott Henry Walker, who has been in the Trumbull County Jail since being arrested last week in Charles Nicholas Partin’s death.
An affidavit in support of a prosecutor’s complaint accuses Walker of fatally punching the youngster in the stomach on June 14. His mother heard him say, “Ouch,” and double over in pain.
Bazetta police and firefighters were called to home at 2910 North Park Extension at 3:15 a.m. June 15 when family members said the boy wasn’t breathing. A dispatcher told responders that the child had ingested carpet cleaner the previous afternoon.
The responders found the boy on an island counter in the kitchen. CPR was performed on Nicholas until a rescue unit transported him to Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
