Mon 11:55 a.m.: Lordstown issues boil alert

LORDSTOWN – The Lordstown Water Department has issued a boil warning until 2 p.m. Wednesday for Lydia Drive due to temporary disruption in water service because of a waterline break.

A boil warning means that any water used for drinking or cooking must be boiled for at least three minutes before using. This applies to drinking water only, not water used for bathing or washing of clothes. As a reminder, automatic coffee makers do not boil water.

Water officials said two samples of the water will be sent to the laboratory to determine if it is free of bacteria.
