Wed. 4:29pm: Man robbed at gunpoint

YOUNGSTOWN – Police are investigating the robbery of a Youngstown man late Tuesday night after two intruders reportedly held him up at gunpoint in his apartment.

Darron Williams, 49, told police two black males took several pieces of jewelry from his Eastway Drive apartment before fleeing.

The incident began when the two men asked the victim if they could use his electrical outlet to charge a cellular phone, reports said. Once inside, a suspect Williams knows only as “John” pointed a large black shotgun at him, forcing him to remove two gold bracelets, four gold rings and a gold necklace with a cross.

The victim also said the suspects went through his drawers, according to reports, taking two additional watches before leaving in an unknown direction.
