Fri., 4:09: EPA may have to burn Bristol creek

BRISTOL — The U.S. EPA is considering holding a controlled burn of the creek contaminated with crude oil when the valve of a tank on Mahan Denman Road was intentionally opened around May 1.

The United States Environmental Protection Agency took over the cleanup of about 1,680 gallons after the Ohio EPA’s contract with Chemtron ran out on Sunday.

It is still unknown who released the oil.
