Wed., 6:29am: Youngstown males arrested in Salem drug raid
SALEM – A small amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia, along with $2,200 in cash, were seized from a city apartment on Tuesday following a raid by the Columbiana County Drug Task Force and several other law enforcement agencies.
The apartment on Continental Drive was rented to Kathy Talbott, who was home at the time but not charged. Three people from Mahoning County were present and were taken into custody on outstanding arrest warrants:
– Marvin L. Gidney II, 26, Hillman Street, Youngstown: on charges of trafficking in heroin and cocaine out of Mahoning County.
– Charles Pete, 19, Indianola Avenue, Youngstown: failure to appear in court on traffic charges out of Columbiana County.
– A 15-year-old Youngstown boy.
McLaughlin said the raid resulted in the confiscation of a small amount of crack cocaine, scales, smoking devices and items commonly used to prepare heroin for use. He said the search was the result of an eight-month investigation, and charges are expected to result.
Also participating in the raid were the Salem Police Department, the Youngstown office of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, the county sheriff’s special response team, and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
