Wed. 4:26pm: Shooting victim released from hospital

WARREN – The man who was shot in the chest early Tuesday on the city’s east side has been released from the hospital, police said.

Michael B. Settle, 24, of McDonald, was shot while walking on Francis Avenue S.E. near Clarence Street S.E., according to Warren police.

Police said earlier today that they are still trying to determine how the shooting was related to a fight in which two men were stabbed about an hour earlier near Trumbull Homes.

“All we know is that it all stems from the same incident,” explained Warren Police Detective Michael Currington. “But we’re still trying to piece together exactly what happened and what one thing had to do with the other.”
