Fri. 9:28pm: Raid nets heroin, guns

ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP – Investigators with the Trumbull Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task Force seized about $4,000 worth or heroin today while serving a search warrant at a 3923 State Road home.

Investigators with help from several agencies served the warrant and found $2,000 in cash, heroin, marijuana, prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, five guns and ammunition, a news release states.

As a SWAT team entered the house one of the people inside, 21-year-old David Cameron, had a loaded gun but he tossed the weapon on the floor.

Cameron is facing charges of trafficking in heroin, tampering with evidence and receiving stolen property. Another person, Greg McFarland, 39, faces a charge of having a weapon while under disability.

Helping out was the state Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, the Ashtabula-Lake County SWAT team, Ashtabula County Sheriff;s Office, Ashtabula Police Department, Ashtabula Township Fire Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The warrant culminated a six-month investigation, the release states.
