Fri., 12:56pm: 409 civilians at Vienna air station face furloughs

VIENNA The 409 civilian employees at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station would take one furlough day per week through from March 1 through September if the federal government’s automatic budget cuts, known as “sequestration,” goes through.

The Washington Post reported this morning that sequestration appears likely.

Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta informed the 910th Airlift Wing in Vienna that the 409 civilian workers there would be among the more than 800,000 nationwide forced to take one unpaid furlough day per week.
