WORK DAY A community garden work day is 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Bolindale DeForest Park. There will be raised gardens at the park.

CLEANUP DAY: The Liberty Township 24th annual Community Litter Clean Up is noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting). Cubs, groups or families interested in cleaning an area should meet at the administration building to be assigned a street or resident may clean their own street. The cleanup is sponsored by Geauga-Trumbull County Waste Management which is supplying bags, gloves and giveaways. Belmont Giant Eagle is providing snacks and water. ALUMNI HALL OF FAME: Nominations are being taken for the Niles 2019 Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame until May 15. The football game, where the nominees will be introduced, is the Niles Vs. Howland game Aug. 29. The banquet is Sept. 1 at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre. Nomination forms available at Niles City Schools’ website under Departments, then Alumni.

BAGELS WITH RABBI: Temple El Emeth will hold Bagels with the Rabbi with Minyan 9:30 a.m. Sunday with a program to follow featuring the film “Keep Quiet,” which depicts Csanad Szegedi, who espoused anti-Semitic rhetoric and Holocaust denials but his life changed when he embraced his new-found religion. RSVP to the temple by Thursday.

NIGHT AT THE RACES: The Alba Club is hosting a “Night at the Races” 7 p.m. Saturday at the Ali Baba Grotto Hall, 760 Perkins Jones Road, Warren. Doors open at 6 p.m. There will be food, prizes, games and raffles. Call Lee Hanshaw at 330-219-2074 or Allen Briggs at 330-898-2970

MAH-JONGG GAME: Learn to play Mah-Jongg at 6 p.m. today at Howland Library Branch. Over three sessions, Carolyn Roberts will teach participants how to play the tile-based game that originated in China. Mah-Jongg is played with four players using tiles stamped with Chinese symbols. The goal of the game is to be the first to match tiles to a specific hand from the National Mah-Jongg League’s annually distributed scorecard by picking and discarding. Registration is required. Space is limited.
