Mosquito friends to present program on canine senses

DOG SEMINAR: The Mosquito Lake Dog Park Friends will present a seminar on how dogs see, hear and smell 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Wellness Center, 213 Sharkey Drive, Niles. Presenter is Jenny Falvey, a behavior consultant. The purpose of the seminar is to educate people to have a better understanding how dogs use these three senses in every- day life and what advantage they have over humans. BLOCKWATCH TO MEET: Girard second and third wards blockwatches will be held 6 p.m. Thursday at the community room at Girard Free Library. Guest speaker is Girard Municipal Court Judge Jeff Adler.

LaBRAE LEARNING: Bascom Elementary School, 1015 N. Leavitt Road, Leavittsburg, will hold a LaBrae Early Learning Fair 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday for families with children up to age 5. The free event includes family resources, children’s activities, games and magic show 6:15 p.m. For information, call 330-898-3041.

CENTER EVENTS: Girard Multigenerational Center, Trumbull Avenue, will hold a “Back to the ’50s” car cruise potluck luncheon noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday. Those attending are invited to wear ’50s attire.

LIMB PICKUP: Howland Township is offering limb and branch pickup, with items needed by the curbside for areas east of Mosquito Creek by today. Items must be at curbside for streets off of and including North Road by April 29. One pass will be made on all streets. Cut end of branches must face street. No firewood, large logs or complete trees will be picked up.
