EASTER PARTY: Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland Wilson Road, will hold free Easter party 10 a.m. to noon April 20, including an egg hunt.

ROAD TO CROSS: Wildare United Methodist Church, 7211 N. Park Ave., Cortland, “Road to the Cross” 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday with an interactive journey from Jerusalem’s marketplace to Calvary’s Cross. Actors will portray the scenes of Holy Week at nine different stations leading to cross of Jesus and his resurrection. There will be a marketplace for food.

MAUNDY THURSDAY RE-ENACTMENT: Bazetta Christian Church, Bazetta Road and Everett Hull Road, will hold a re-enactment of the Life of Jesus. Free admission.

SUNRISE SERVICE: First Baptist Church of Newton Falls will hold an outdoor Easter sunrise service 7:30 a.m. April 21 at the pavilion next to the dam on West Broad Street.

CROSS WALK: Grand Valley Interfaith Service will hold a Good Friday cross walk 5:45 p.m. Friday at St. Mary Church, followed by a meal at Orwell North Presbyterian Church 6 p.m., and Good Friday service 7 p.m. and service at St Mary at 7 p.m.

MASSAGE EVENT: Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will hold hand massage with salt from the Dead Sea 6:30 p.m. Wednesday with a licensed massage therapist, as part of its weeklong Easter celebration. There will be hand washing with Dead Sea Salt to symbolize the cleansing of the feet of the disciples by Jesus and also supervised hand massage of each others’ hands as an enactment of serving one another in the fellowship hall. CHRISM MASS: St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown will celebrate the annual Chrism Mass 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. To demonstrate diocesan unity and in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Diocese, every parish is asked to send a delegation of parishioners to the Chrism Mass of which two people are to be selected to be part of the opening procession. The 75th anniversary county banners will be part of the procession. As each county banner enters the cathedral, it will be followed by a delegation of parishioners — two from each parish within the county.

Approximately 1,000 persons representing the 89 parishes, missions and schools in the six-county Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will demonstrate the unity of the Diocesan church for the Mass of Holy Chrism. Included in the Chrism Mass is the annual renewal of the diocesan and religious priests of their commitment to priestly service.

The Chrism Mass is held during Holy Week so the bishop can bless the Holy Oils used at every parish during the church year.

The Chrism Mass also will be live streamed 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at doy.org/Media/Cathedral Live Stream. Also, it will be broadcast 7 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday on CTNY.

HOLY WEEK: St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown will take part in Holy Week events.

Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord Mass is 4 p.m. today and 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday. Holy Thursday 5:30 p.m., Friday of the Passion of the Lord and Veneration of the Cross service 3 p.m. During this service, the annual collection for the Holy Land, which helps preserve the holy places of Christ’s homeland and helps alleviate the suffering of the poor of every faith in the Holy Land, takes place.

Holy Saturday with Blessing of the Easter Food 3 p.m and the Easter Vigil 8 p.m. April 20.

Mass on Easter Sunday is 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. April 21.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available 1 p.m. Monday with a Communal Reconciliation Service at 6 p.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

EASTER EXTAVAGANZA: Bristolville United Methodist Church, state Routes 45 and 88, will hold an Easter Extravaganza, 9 to 11 a.m. April 20. An egg hunt will be at 10 a.m at the township park and the Easter bunny will visit the fire hall.

WEEK CHANGED WORLD: The Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will hold “The Week That Changed The World” 9 a.m. today, followed by cleaning up the Centre grounds for Earth Day. Planned activities for the week include spiritual cleansing and healing, meditation, worship and fellowship.

Palm Sunday service will be 11 a.m. Sunday. Guided meditation with Cay Tomerlin 6:30 p.m. Monday. Maundy Thursday service will be 7 p.m. Thursday. Easter service will be 11 a.m. April 21.

COSMIC CHRIST: The Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will present Silent Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring the Stations of the Cosmic Christ inspired by the book “The Cosmic Christ” by Matthew Fox. From 9:30 to 9:45 a.m., there will be instructions as to how you can make this your experience. Each station in the book will have a picture of the station as designed by Ullrrich Javier Lemus, and the title of the station. There will be an activity at each station that you can do in order to experience the meaning of the station. Stations include “I am the Good Shepherd” and “I am the Light of the World.”

HOLY WEEK BROADCAST: Ecumenical Television Channel will broadcast Solumn Mass of Palm Sunday with Pope Francis from St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City 4:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday.

Solemn Mass of Palm Sunday from the Basilica of the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception will be noon Sunday.

Holy Thursday Choral Meditations and Solemn Mass of the Lord’s Supper from Basilica of the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception will air 5:30 p.m.

Good Friday Celebration of the Lord’s Passion will be noon Friday and midnight April 20. Choral Meditations and the Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion from the Basilica of the National Shrine 2:30 p.m. The Way of the Cross from Rome will be 8 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday.
