Event helps support child’s ability to learn

QUARTER AUCTION: ACLD School and Learning Center is sponsoring a quarter auction 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the St. Columba Parish Hall, 159 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown. The purpose of the event is to support the needs of children in the community who struggle to learn. This event is for adults only. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. to allow viewing time for the auction items. All items have been donated by ACLD’s students, parents, clients and staff, friends and families. Tickets are available by calling ACLD at 330-746-0604 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, and depending on advanced sales, will be available at the door.

FAITH AND FAMILY DAY: A Faith and Family Day will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Youngstown State University’s Beeghly Center practice gym. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes Steel Valley will take part in pre-game activities with a high-five tunnel at 5 p.m., followed by game at 6 p.m. For tickets or information, call 330-565-9274 or rkimpel@fca.org

OPEN HOUSE: Trumbull Career and Technical Center, 528 Educational Highway NW in Champion, will hold an open house 6 to 8 p.m. today. There will be live lab demonstrations, STEM program displays and tours of the school. Staff will be available to discuss programs.

OPEN HOUSE: Ursuline High School, 750 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will hold an open house 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday. All academic departments and school organizations will have displays for the event. There will be performances by the school band, choir and speech members. There also will be tours of the school.

BLOCKWATCH TO MEET: The Girard Multigenerational Center 443 Trumbull Ave., will hold a fourth ward blockwatch 5 p.m. Wednesday. A cookie decorating program with Windsor House will be 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.

MOVIE MATINEE: Warren Trumbull County Public Library will hold a movie matinee watch and chat 2 p.m. Monday with showing of “Funny Face” from 1957. Free admission. No registration is needed.
