Seeing Eye

REMEMBERING HISTORY: The McKinley Memorial Library will present “Remembering World War I” 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the McKinley Birthplace Memorial Replica House. The program is on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 when World War I ended. Ralph Tolbert of the Niles Historical Society will tell the story of the war. SPEAKER SERIES: The Trumbull County Historical Society will hold a speaker series 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at John Stark Edwards House Museum, 303 Monroe St., NW, Warren. The featured program will be “A Panel Discussion-Carrie Green Mountain: The Great Migration and Emancipated Slaves in Warren, Ohio.” An optional tour of both the Kinsman House and the John Edwards House Museum follow the presentation. This series is presented by the Trumbull County Historical Society and the Warren Heritage Center.

KICK-A-THON: Warren’s Martial Arts, 169 Folsom St., Champion, will hold a kickathon noon to 4 p.m. Saturday with focus on being bully free. There also will be a craft show noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 10 and 11. The martial arts program is offered to students in local schools.

RUMMAGE SALE: Community Church of God in Christ, 310 Austin Ave. SW, Warren, will offer a rummage sale 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

STUFF THE BUS: Students at Howland High School have spent time “stuffing” two school buses full of food and non-perishables to benefit needy people in Trumbull County. The effort was sponsored by the Howland Interact Club. Items collected will benefit the Howland Community Church, Bolindale Food Pantry, Tiger Backpack program and Paw Pantry. A check presentation will be 9:30 a.m today by Ameriprise Financial in Cortland to celebrate the accomplishments of students.

DAY OF DENTISTRY: The Center For Progressive Dentistry is holding its fourth annual Day of Dentistry 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at their office in Cortland, 481 S. High St. During this event, Dr. Joseph Bedich and his staff, along with area dental volunteers, provide free dental care to local veterans.

BENEFIT TO HELP WOMAN: A benefit to help Suzanne Sapic with surgery costs and lost wages due to a back injury that affected her legs and feet will be held 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Masters Bar and Grill, 1675 Trumbull Ave., Girard.
