Nightmare on Mahoning slated

HALLOWEEN AT THE LIBRARY: Teens in seventh to 12th grades can celebrate Halloween at the Library, with Nightmare on Mahoning Avenue at 5 p.m. Monday at the Main Library in Warren.

TREATS ON STREET: First Baptist Church, 26 E. Church St. Niles, will hold the eighth annual Treats on Church Street 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for Halloween.

There will be an activity center complete with street lights and more than 40 people handing out candy inside the building, and White House Farm doughnuts and apple cider for all.

CHRISTMAS SIGNUPS: Niles Community Services will hold a food and toy program application for Christmas for residents of Niles, Mineral Ridge and McDonald.

Applications will be accepted 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and Nov. 5 to 9 at 401 Vienna Ave., Niles. Those applying must bring photo identification, proof of residency, proof of income, and medical cards for children.

GIVE KIDS A SMILE DAY: On Give Kids a Smile Day, Nov. 9, Dr. Paul Bertolasio and staff in Girard will help children whose families cannot afford dental care.

Anyone who would like to register a child for an appointment, should call 330-545-2000. Children without dental insurance or Medicaid are eligible to attend from 7 to 9 p.m.

MEDICARE REVIEW: Free consultations on 2019 open enrollment Medicare plans for those 65 and older will be provided by SCOPE Senior Services.

For Medicare Part D issues or questions dealing with prescriptions, call Debbie Zador to make an appointment at the Warren Senior Center at 330-399-8846. For all other Medicare questions, call Marge Haley of SCOPE at 330-766-3486.

SCOPE can provide free Medicare consultation service at any of our senior centers in Trumbull County.

MAHJONG EVENT: Over three sessions, Carolyn Roberts will teach beginners how to play mahjong, the tile-based game that originated in China.

A session will be held 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Cortland Library Branch. Registration is required at 330-638-6335 and attendance at all three sessions is strongly encouraged.
