LIBRARY BOOKMOBILE CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY: The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library is celebrating 80 years of Bookmobile library service on Saturday with special events for the community. The library first instituted bookmobile service in 1938 to provide books to residents in communities without a library. Today, the “library on wheels” travels to locations around Trumbull County every weekday visiting housing complexes, preschool centers, senior living communities and rural neighborhoods. Events include Touch a Truck with different vehicles, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Liberty branch at 415 Churchill-Hubbard Road. The bookmobile will be parked 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the main library parking lot, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, for tours. Outback Ray’s amazing animal show will be 3 p.m. inside the main library. All events are free and open to the public.

ADULT SCHOOL: The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library is partnering with the Trumbull County Aspire Program for an Adult Back-to-School night, 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the library’s second-floor Thomas Room. Sign up for free classes to increase basic education skills, prepare for the GED or HiSET tests, prepare for certification testing, increase employability skills and prepare to enter technical training or college. Circulation staff will be available to assist with library cards / accounts. There will be children’s activities and an Academic Book giveaway for adults who attend.

MASTER GARDENERS: Trumbull Master Gardeners will hold a program on Growing Houseplants, 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Trumbull County Agriculture and Family Education Center, 520 E. Main St., Cortland.

KNITTERS MEET: Knit One Chrochet Two will be held 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the McKinley Memorial Library in Niles. Those who attend are invited to bring yarn and needles to spend time working with others, to share ideas and learn new techniques. Registration can be made by calling 330-652-1704, Ext. 3.
