Association recognizes service

WARREN — Common Pleas Court Judge Andrew D. Logan said he credits all the dedicated staff at the court for what they do each day for his receiving the “President’s Award” from the Trumbull County Bar Association.

The association met for its annual awards dinner recognizing special achievements and years of service.

” I am honored to receive this award on behalf of everyone at the courthouse who I work with every day. The staff is very diligent. The work is done in a professional manner,” Logan said.

Logan said the work of the courts is designed to help people which he is most proud of.

Beth Anne Aurilio, president of the TCBA, said the various awards presented recognized “outstanding accomplishments and achievements by members of the bar association and those who work with the association.”

The “Appreciation Award” was presented to Darryl Rodgers Sr., drug court coordinator at the Trumbull County Courthouse, for his service as a non-bar association member who through work has benefited the community and assisted the bar association.

The drug court program was started 18 years ago.

“I am extremely humbled to receive this award. The drug court helps to serve others in need. Every day I get the opportunity to see others and help them. This has been a dream for me,” Rodgers said.

He said the drug court is making a difference helping people.

“No one person can do it all. It takes a team. It is tough work, but it is worth helping someone to get sober,” he said.

Rodgers said last year, 72,000 people nationwide died of overdoses with 5,200 in Ohio.

Also recognized were:

• Rush Elliott and and Calvin Woodward, both 50-year members; Robert Herman, Patricia Leopardi Knepp, Robert Kokor,
