SUMMER SIZZLER: The Hubbard Community Pool, 200 Hall Ave., is holding the 14th annual Summer Sizzler from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. There will be free swimming, a basket raffle and food for $1.

A 5K race steps off at 9 a.m. Register at www.hubbardpool.com. Proceeds raised will go back into the pool for improvements.

There is no admission fee.

LIONS CAR SHOW: Cortland car show will be held noon to 3 p.m. July 15 in the city’s downtown, sponsored by the Cortland Lion Club. The event will include a deejay, 50-50 drawing and food. Registration is 8 to 11 a.m. Trophies will be presented to the first place winners in each class.

TCAP REGISTRATION: TCAP Head Start will hold the second annual “Race to Learning” preschool registration 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 18 at Warren West, 1230 Palmyra Road SW, Warren, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 25 at Niles Head Start, 309 N. Rhodes Ave., Niles. Children 3 and 4 and those age 5 who are not kindergarten age can register.

HOWLAND SUMMER RECREATION: The Howland Township summer youth recreation program camps will be 9 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday at Howland Township Park through early August. Camps include soccer and volleyball.

SEEKING ENTRANTS: The 33rd annual spelling bee sponsored by the Trumbull Retired Teachers will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds in fair exhibit hall. Registration will be held noon to 12:45 p.m. the day of the event. Children who have completed grades first to eighth are eligible.

VIENNA SUMMER CONCERTS: The Vienna summer concert series is held 6 p.m. each Sunday at the center. Free concerts will be performed at the gazebo off Warren Sharon Road. Those attending can bring a lawn chair. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

In case of inclement weather, concerts are moved to St. Thomas the Apostle Parish Center, 4453 Warren Sharon Road.
