Seeing Eye

SAVE THE PARK: Rock of Grace Church will hold a “Save the Park” fundraiser 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Bazetta Township Park. The community is working to keep the park open.

The event will include inflatables, face painting, live music and food.

BRICK FUNDRAISER: The Raiders Pride park brick fundraiser is part of the Raider Memorial Project. The Warren Western Reserve Memorial streering committee is selling bricks. There will be sections for 1967, which was the first graduating class, and 1990, which was the last graduating class. There will also be class dedicated benches.

HISTORICAL DVD: The William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society has created a DVD presentation celebrating its 55th anniversary. McGuffey has a plaza, mall and community center and several area landmarks named for him.

YWCA CAMP: Young Artists Camp, a partnership with the SOAP Gallery, will run 9 to 11:3 a.m. July 16 20 at the SOAP Gallery in Youngstown. Students will learn the basics of creating artwork with clay, and make their own bowls, cups, and 3D sculptures.

Summer camps in Youngstown are funded by the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.

STEM LEARNING: The OH!WOW Center of Science and Technology in Youngstown will hold a STEM stoyrtime 10 a.m. Saturday for children age 5 and younger. The program is designed for participants to explore and learn about engineering through making STEM structures to take home. Call 330-744-5914.

“Hack It” will be held noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. Participants age 9 and older will explore circuitry and robotics.
