The Seeing Eye
READING AND ART: Reading and Other Forms of Art will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Butler Institute of American Art Trumbull Branch, 9350 E. Market St., Howland, in partnership with the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library. A children’s librarian will present stories and an art educator from the Butler will present a companion craft. The program is for ages 5 to 10 with accompanying adult.
CIVIL WAR STORY: The Mahoning Valley Historical Society’s Bites and Bits of History program is noon Thursday at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., Youngstown. Traci Manning, the historical society’s curator of education, will discuss Civil War headlines using historical local newspapers to show how the war shaped local daily life.
