Escape room set for McKinley Home

The Seeing Eye

Birthplace Home, 40 S. Main St., Niles, will hold a “Find the Key Escape Room” at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Saturday. The event pays tribute to “The House Without a Key,” a Charlie Chan novel by Warren author Earl Derr Biggers, as part of Trumbull County Libraries One Book One Community.

Groups with less than six participants may be paired with another group. The activity is recommended for adults, teens and school-age children. All participants will receive discount coupons to both Escape NE Ohio and Escape History. All successful participants will be entered into grand prize drawings that include escape room games and free passes to Escape NE Ohio and Escape History in Warren.

EASTER FUNDRAISER: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society in Niles is hosting its annual homemade Italian Easter Bread sale. The bread will be baked and available for pickup 3 to 6 p.m. March 27 and 28. All orders must be received by 3 p.m. March 25 by calling 330-652-2811 to place orders.

The cost of each loaf is $7 plain and $8 raisins. Icing is available for both.

MUSICAL FUNDRAISER: Grace United Methodist Church will sponsor a performance of the musical “Church Basement Ladies” 6 p.m. March 14 at Trumbull New Theater as a fundraiser for the food pantry. Food starts at 6 p.m. and program 7 p.m.

BASKET GIVEAWAY: The Emmanuel Care Center, 2 N. State St., Girard, will be collecting items such as small toys and candy for the annual Easter basket giveaway for children up to age 11 whose families are registered at the center. Baskets will be picked up from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 27. Items will be accepted at the center through March 16. Call 330-545-4301.

DRESSES EVENT: Kyrsten’s Kloset will be held noon to 4 p.m. March 24 and 25 at Roosevelt School gymnasium, 110 Orchard Ave., Hubbard. The event gives prom, homecoming and formal dresses and accessories and shoes to any girl who signs the pledge to not drink and drive.

The event, which is hosted by the Kyrsten Elizabeth Studer Foundation and Kyrsten’s Kloset, will include the dress giveaway a bake sale and a Chinese auction.
