Art show set for the Ridge

The Seeing Eye

ART SHOW SET IN RIDGE: The Mineral Ridge High School art show will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Students in grades seventh to 12th will display their work for the public.

FUNDRAISER EVENT: A Pizza with a Purpose fundraising event will be 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Mineral Ridge High School gymnasium. The event will include a silent auction, basket raffle and 50-50 raffle. Tickets for the event are $10 per person with proceeds from the event to assist Fire Chief Randy Pugh, who is battling cancer. The Mineral Ridge High School Drama Club will perform “School of Rock” 7 p.m.

COMMUNITY BUNNY: A community Easter egg hunt hosted by Weathersfield police and officials will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the township park and gazebo on state Route 46. The event is for children up to age 12. Bags will be provided to children. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos.

FIRST AID TRAINING: Youth Mental Health first aid training will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority first floor conference room.

RE-ENTRY COALITION: The Mahoning Valley Re-Entry Coalition (MVRC) will hold its Inauguration Celebration fundraiser 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Trumbull Community Action Program (TCAP), 1230 Palmyra Road SW, Warren. Keynote speaker is Mike Davis, bureau chief office Re-entry and Enterprise Development. The event includes dinner, entertainment, money lottery tree and 50-50 raffle. The goal is to advocate for safer neighborhoods and promote self sufficiency for those individuals transitioning into the community. Donation is $25. Call 330-398-8280.

CELEBRATING WOMEN: In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Mahoning Valley Historical Society presents “Sisterhood in Blue: Trailblazing Women of the Youngstown Police and Fire Departments.” This free presentation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Tyler History Center, 325 West Federal St., Youngstown. Participants will hear the stories, struggles, and successes of some of the first women to serve on patrol with the Youngstown Police Department and to serve with the Youngstown Fire Department. The event will include stories from Delphine Baldwin Casey, Sue Centorame, Wanda Cordero, Anita Davis, Sharman Simon, Marcia Harris and Sharyl E. Frasier-Everett (deceased). PHOTOS WITH EASTER BUNNY: The Animal Welfare League in Vienna will offer photos with the Easter Bunny noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, allowing pet owners to have their pets sit with the bunny. Refreshments will be served.
