Board Game Night set for Public Library

BOARD GAME NIGHT: A Board Game Night for adults age 18 and older will be 6 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in Conference Room A, second floor at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. The free event will allow adults to learn a new game, such as Catan, Ticket to Ride and other modern favorites. Players of any skill level are welcome, from beginners on up. A librarian will be there to teach the game to everyone.

VOLUNTEERS PROGRAM: The Area Agency on Aging 11 is offering long-term care ombudsman free program training. Ombudsman volunteers make a difference in people’s lives by advocating for quality care and resident rights. Ombudsmen advocate for people who use long-term care services, such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities, to resolve resident concerns or complaints. Volunteer ombudsman are certified as an ombudsman associate before beginning their volunteer work. No experience requirements to become a volunteer, but individuals are asked to complete short application. A background check is also done at no cost. BLOOD DRIVE: A Girard community blood drive will be 1 to 6 p.m. today at the Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St, There will be refreshments including cookies and soup. The event is held in conjunction with American Red Cross.

GREETING CARD CLASS: The Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St. will offer “Make Your Own Greeting Card” 5 and 6:30 p.m. today at the library. The event is free with materials to be provided. For information and registration, call 330-545-2508.
