Talbots to raise money for Upton

FUNDRAISER PLANNED: The Harriet Taylor Upton Association has been selected by Talbots in Legacy Village, 2513 Cedar Road, Lyndhurst, to be the recipient of a fundraiser it will sponsor 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The association will receive 10 percent of the store’s total sales for that day. A representative of the Upton will be at the Legacy Village location to display and distribute information and to answer any question shoppers might have about the association.

HOLIDAY GALA: The Mahoning Valley Young Professionals is hosting a Holiday Gala 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the DeYor Performing Arts Center in downtown Youngstown. The event will feature a red-carpet experience, photo booth, jewelry bar, auction, 50/50 raffle and dancing. The Holiday Gala will act as fundraiser for the MVYP to help fund and support programming that includes board development, professional development, volunteer activities and fundraising for the Young Philanthropist fund. GUARDIAN ANGELS MEET: Guardian Angels of Trumbull County, a program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is seeking volunteers to become advocates who reach out as a friend to senior citizens who may need friendly phone call, a visit to a nursing home or help where need. Angels are planning various events for next year. The next meeting is 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland.
