Achievers Hall of Fame nominees sought

SEEING EYE

CLASS OF 2018: The Trumbull County African American Achievers Association is accepting nominations for its 2018 Hall of Fame. THANKSGIVING EVENT: First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, corner of Wick Avenue and Wood Street, will hold a free community Thanksgiving dinner 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. This is the 57th year for the event.

MRS. CLAUS CLOSET: West Farmington United Methodist Church will hold Mrs. Claus Closet 6 p.m. Thursday at the church. The event will include a silent auction and craft demonstrations.

BLOCKWATCH TO MEET: Girard Second Ward blockwatch will meet 6 p.m. Thursday at the Girard Free Library community room. This will be the last meeting of the year. The next meeting is January 15. The meeting is open to residents of the Second and Third wards.

BITES AND BITS: The Mahoning Valley Historical Society’s next Bites and Bits of History lunch program is Thursday. It’s Finding Mary Wick, with Lillian Reynolds Reeher, author of “Her Name was Mary Wick.” The book is a collection of Mary Wick’s journals that chronicle her life and times.
