Liberty library to host Touch a Truck Saturday

FIFTH ANNUAL EVENT: Liberty Library Branch, 415 Churchill-Hubbard Road, will hold the fifth annual Touch a Truck event 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Children of all ages are invited to the library parking lot, which will be filled with many. The event is free.

CELEBRATING THE ARTS: Rockitwell Creative Arts Provider will present the third annual Creative Arts Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Free Methodist Church, 2250 Tod Ave NW, Warren. The festival celebrates and supports local artists and small businesses. Among the vendors will be authors Victoria Perkins and Michael Prelee, artist Amanda Owens, PT Newfies and Havanese and photographer Christina Conlon. There will be handmade jewelry, glass works and food.

SCRAP TIRE COLLECTION: Liberty Township will hold a scrap tire collection and drop-off 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 23 and 24 at the township administration building, 1315 Churchill-Hubbard Road. The event is for Liberty residents only. Maximum eight tires per residents. Only tires off rims will be taken. No material from commercial businesses.

STEM DAYS: Seven Days of STEM Youngstown Regional Science and Technology Festival will be held Sept. 18 to 24 in downtown Youngstown. There will be various activities and displays planned. OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology in Youngstown will host events. The seven-day community celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics will provide a variety of hands-on, interactive learning opportunities, showcases STEM events, organizations, institutions, professionals and businesses in Youngstown and energizes inquisitiveness and promotes curiosity in the minds of learners of all ages in the greater Mahoning Valley.

NWNA TO MEET: Northwest Neighborhood Association will meet 6:30 p.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church on Drexel Avenue. Speakers are Michael Keys from Community Development and Vince Flask, city auditor.
