Wolves Club recognizes Trumbull students

HOWLAND — The Trumbull County Chapter of the National Association of Wolves Club awarded $24,000 in scholarships to eight Trumbull County High School seniors.
Each student was presented $3,000 scholarships each at the annual dinner at Leo’s Ristorante.
David Leo, scholarship chairman, said the Wolves is an Italian professional organization tracing their ideals of learning, discovery and public service to the founding of ancient Rome.
Leo said the Trumbull County Wolves has awarded $472,550 over the past 32 years to 268 students and the Wolves Club of Ohio and Pennsylvania have awarded more than six million in their 54 years of existence,
Recipients of scholarships are Jason Kay of Girard High School, Michael Massucci of Howland High School, Heaven Miller of Mineral Ridge High School, Marissa Montecalvo of Niles High School, Megan Payich of Girard High School, Miranda Pesa of Lakeview High School in Cortland, Angelo Redmond of Champion High School and Courtnai Richardson of Warren G. Harding High School in Warren.
Miranda Pesa was selected as this year’s winner of the Peter P. Rossi Sr. Memorial Academic Achievement Award. Michael Massucci was awarded the Mary Massucci Memorial Scholarship.
The Wolves Club is a nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to award deserving Trumbull County students scholarships. The group is holding a membership drive. Anyone interested may call Bill Massucci at 330-647-0770.
