‘NINE IS FINE’ GOLF: United Way of Trumbull County is hosting a “Nine is Fine” golf outing with two nine-hole tournaments Monday at the Trumbull County Club in Warren.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Snacks and refreshments will be provided on the course followed by the awards ceremony and social hours that are open to everyone between 4 and 6 p.m.

GATEWAY GOLF OUTING: Gateways to Better Living Inc. will hold its 13th annual golf outing to benefit individuals with developmental disabilities at Mill Creek golf course on Friday. Guests include boxing legend Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini and rocker Donnie Iris.

RUNNING CANVAS COLOR RUN: The Love Live Foundation is sponsoring the Running Canvas 5K and one-mile color run / walk July 1 in Cortland. The race will begin and end at the Cortland Roller Rink.

This event is a memorial run to celebrate Jarrett Hutton and his life in the arts. Proceeds will benefit the Love Life Foundation, Art Scholarship and Grants program. Awards will be given to the first three overall 5K men and women finishers and the top three finishers in each age group.

DONATION TO BIG BROTHERS /SISTERS: Home Savings Charitable Foundation recently donated a check for $3,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mahoning Valley. The funds will be used for the Site-Based Mentoring Program.

FOUNDATION GRANTS: The Raymond John Wean Foundation awarded grants totaling $193,000 at its June Board of Directors meeting.

In support of We Are Warren, an initiative that seeks to bolster existing programming and better utilize community resources to ensure that Warren’s youth live safe, healthy, productive lives, grants were awarded to Inspiring Minds and the Eastern Ohio Education Partnership.
