Event teaches online learning
CORTLAND LIBRARY OFFERS SERVICE: The Cortland Library, 578 Lakeview Drive, will offer “Learning Express Library Online Services” 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The free event will give an overview of the interactive online learning platform that includes practice tests and free tutorials designed to jump-start school or career success. Programs include high school and GED, career descriptions, preparation, test taking and resumes.
Familiarity with a mouse, keyboard and computer are required. To sign up, call 330-399-8807, Ext. 201.
SIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES: Blessed Sacrament Parish in Warren will offer American sign language classes 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays March 22 through May 10. Call 330-372-2215 for information.
BENEFIT PLANNED: A concert by liturgical composers David Haas and Lori True will be 7 p.m. Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Boardman. The concert will honor late Youngstown Diocese priest the Rev. Joseph A. Fata, who was planning the concert before becoming seriously ill and succumbing to cancer last year.
A prelude before the concert will include one of Fata’s songs as part of the tribute to his memory.
Recordings, books and music collections by Haas and True will be available for purchase.
On Saturday, the pair will conduct the retreat workshop “I Will Sing a Song of Love” from 9:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. at St. Luke Church, Boardman.

The parishes of St. Luke, St. Charles and St. Patrick, Youngstown, are co-sponsoring the events for the benefit of The Ursuline Center’s programs, which offer outreach to many people, especially the poor and disadvantaged. The Ursuline Center is a ministry of The Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown.
LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS: The Sufliff Museum on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library has a display of “The Language of Flowers,” which will be shown Wednesday to Saturday at the museum. There are postcards and clothing.
SOCIETY PLANS FUNDRAISER: The Girard Historical Society is holding a evening of romantic comedy with ”Barefoot in the Park” March 14 at Trumbull New Theater on U.S. Route 422 in Niles. The event includes a social at 6 p.m. and program at 7 p.m. There will be 50-50 and basket raffle.
