STEAM shows off year’s projects

STEAM EXCELEBRATION SHOWCASES WORK: Steam Excelebration will hold its end-of-the-year performances starting 6 p.m. Thursday with the art and design show and 6:30 p.m. with performances at Niles McKinley High School auditorium, 616 Dragon Drive. Steam Excelebration is the year-end performance of the Steam EXCEL program where the young artists display their art and technology projects and perform in the disciplines of music, drama and dance. The program includes 18 Trumbull County Schools and the Trumbull County Educational Service Center, that provides students with an opportunity to develop their academic and artistic talents in the disciplines of technology, art, dance, and drama.

FILM CLUB TO MEET: The Masterpiece Book and Film Club of the Newton Falls Public Library is meeting at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss “Victoria,” a drama series about the epic life of Queen Victoria, which will air on Masterpiece on PBS in 2017 in the time slot previously occupied by “Downton Abbey.” Viewers can prepare by reading “We Two: Victoria and Albert: Rulers, Partners, Rivals” by Gillian Gill. Copies are available by request in the CLEVNET catalog.

BLOOD DRIVE: Hubbard Public Library, 436 W. Liberty St, will host a blood drive Wednesday, January is National Blood Donor Month. Call 330-534-3512.

SEEKING ENTRIES: Mill Creek Metroparks is calling for entries for the nature photography exhibit through Feb. 5. There will be different categories wild animals, plants, MillCreek Metroparks scenes, and young photographers. Applications available at www.millcreekmetroparks.org The exhibit is planned for Feb. 18 to March 12 at Ford Nature Center in the park.
