Seeing Eye
TEEN PAINT AND SIP: A Teen Paint and Sip program will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Cortland Library, 578 Lakeview Drive. The event is free and includes an evening of painting and then participants will enjoy hot chocolate. All supplies will be provided. The program is for teens in grades seven to 12th. CLOTHING GIVEAWAY: Cortland Trinity Church’s Closet will have a free clothing giveaway 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church, 2576 McCleary Jacoby Road, Cortland. Breakfast is also free. COFFEE AND CONVERSATION: Youngstown Councilwoman Anita Davis will host a ”Coffee and Conversation” 10 a.m. Saturday at the Flamebeau Diner, 2308 Market St. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided. Guests will include Harry Johnson who will be discussing water quality and water rates. There will be talks on major happenings and question-and-answer sessions.
SCOPE SITES OFFER HOT MEALS: The SCOPE Centers of Trumbull County in Cortland, Howland, Lordstown and Warren will offer hot meals 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays. Cortland and Lordstown Senior Center are new to the locations in 2017. For information, contact the individual center.
CORTLAND AREA CARES: Cortland Area Cares, which was started more than 35 years ago, last fall moved to a new location at a building off Fowler Street. CAC started in the basement of Church of God off High Street and has received donations from local service organizations, churches, police department and school groups. The CAC receives food donations from Second Harvest Food Bank. CAC serves more than 244 families and more than 1,000 people including those needing emergency help.
