Liberty library lets kids cook

COOKING CLUB FOR CHILDREN: A Kidz Cooking Club will be held 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Liberty Library Branch, 415 Churchill-Hubbard Road. The event is free to children in kindergarten through sixth grade who will learn how to make food creations. Registration is required by calling 330-759-2589.

YWCA RECEIVES GRANT: The YWCA of Youngstown received a $5,000 grant from Thomases Family Endowment of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation for its Job Skills program. The three-week job skills workshops focus on career assessment and exploration, financial literacy, resume writing, and interviewing. The program empowers individuals to improve their employability, which results in maintaining housing and decreasing chronic homelessness. The next session will be in February. HEAD START EVENT: The TCAP Head Start program will hold a Family Fun Night 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.Thursday in the Warren West Community Center, Palmyra Road SW, Warren. The event “From Pennies to Dollars” will promote personal finance and math development opportunities with emphasis on savings for children and adults. The event includes a dinner, prizes, and entertainment with a ventriloquist. The event is for Head Start families only. The first 10 families to attend will receive a free piggy bank.
