Community Swims will start at WGH

Seeing Eye

EVENTS BEGIN SUNDAY: Community Swims will begin at Warren G. Harding High School on Sunday and continue Sundays until May 7. The times are 2 to 2:30 p.m. for adult lessons, with open swim from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Students younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum cost is $6 per family.

STUDIO HOLDS EXHIBIT: The Collective Palettee Studio will hold an exhibit at the Art Outreach Gallery in the JCPenney concourse of the Eastwood Mall in Niles Friday to Feb. 5. An opening reception will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.

The exhibit will feature work by Amanda Brozman, Evita Burus and Missy Baker.

BLOCK WATCHES TO MEET: Girard Second and Third Ward blockwatches will hold a combined meeting 6 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St.

TINKER TIME AT CENTER: The OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology, 11 W Federal St., Youngstown, will hold “Tinker Time” noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 21, during which participants will use LEGOS and other items to solve engineering challenges. LASER WEEKEND: Ward Beecher Planetarium, Lincoln Avenue, Youngstown, will hold laser weekend Jan. 20 and 21. The show is a mixture of music and lights. Cost is free with $1 donation. Call 330-941-3616.

CONSTRUCTION CLUB: The Construction Club for children will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Brookfield Library Branch, 7032 Grove St., Brookfield. Children in kindergarten to grade six can create with the library’s collection of LEGO bricks and Lincoln Logs (all structures will remain at the library). The event is free to the public.
