Revealing clothes at Warren library

REVEALING CLOTHING SECRETS: The Sutliff Museum, located on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, will present ”Inside Out: Revealing Clothing’s Secrets” 9:20 a.m. Thursday at the Thomas Room at the library. The program is part of the “Victorian Collections and Coffee” series. Guest speaker is Sara Hume, curator and associate professor at Kent State University, who will discuss interiors of garments from the 18th century to the mid-20th century highlighting the workmanship and secret inner workings of custom garments. HUBBARD HOLDS FUN DAY: The second annual Hubbard Fun Day will be 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the parking lot of Save A Lot, 880 W. Liberty St., Hubbard. The free event will include food, crafts from local vendors, live entertainment provided by Guys Without Ties and Michael Thomas Entertainment. There will be clowns, face painters, bounce houses, and a fireworks show by Phantom Fireworks.

AKRON ZOO VISITS: The McKinley Memorial Library will host the Akron Zoo with creepy creatures 11 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 56 N. Chestnut Ave. in Niles. Akron Zoo representatives will bring live animals. Registration is requested since space is limited.

LIBRARY HOSTS SPEAKER: Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St., will host author Sean Posey, whose book is “Lost Youngstown,” 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The event is free. Signup at the library or call 330-545-2508.

CLOSINGS FOR HOLIDAY: All Warren-Trumbull County Public Library locations will be closed on Monday for Columbus Day. This includes the Main Library in Warren; branch libraries in Brookfield, Cortland, Howland, Liberty, and Lordstown; the Bookmobile; and Homebound Library Service.

CRIMEWATCH TO HONOR SAFETY FORCES: The Lordstown Community Crime Watch program will honor and thank police officers and firefighters during a gathering 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at the fire station, followed by the crimewatch meeting 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

ARTS IN THE GARDEN: The ”In the Garden Series: Art in the Garden” will be 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Trumbull County Agriculture & Family Education Center, 520 West Main St., Cortland.
