Council to collect canned, box goods

COLLECTING ON HALLOWEEN: The Champion Pride Council will hold a trick or treat for canned food drive 6 to 7:30 p.m. today as members of the Champion High School Interact Club, the Champion Rotary Club Youth Service Organization, will be collecting canned and boxed goods to support the Pride Council’s fall food drive. The Rotary Interactors will be going door to door and instead of collecting candy will spend time serving those in need. The food drive is being held through Nov. 19.

TREATS FOR KIDS: First Baptist Church of Niles, 26 E. Church St., will hold a Treats on Church Street 6 to 7:30 p.m. today. There will be more than 40 people handing out candy, donuts and apples cider.

KIWANIS CAKE WALK: The 91st annual Newton Falls Kiwanis Cake Walk will be 7 p.m. today in downtown Newton Falls and take place until all cakes are gone. Clubs and organizations who make, decorate and donate cakes for the event can drop them off at the Covered Bridge Inn banquet room, 16 W. Broad St., 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.

NETWORKING EVENT: Young Professionals Networking event will be 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Magic Tree Pub / Eatery 7463 South Ave, Boardman. The American Cancer Society and Magic Tree Pub / Eatery are teaming up for the event. This is an opportunity for young professionals to mix and mingle and get to know more about volunteer opportunities with the American Cancer Society. Howard and the Point 5 band will be performing following the  event.

CRAFT SHOW: American Association of University Women is sponsoring a Craft and Vendor Show 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St., Warren. There will be a bake sale and lunch available.
