Veggies topic for garden group
COMMUNITY GARDEN: Lee Beers, Ohio State University Extention educator, will speak 6:30 p.m. today at Garfield Community Garden in Warren on Woodland Street between Willard Avenue and Perkinswood Boulevard. His topic will be vegetable gardening. He will cover information that will help both new and experienced gardeners. The event is free to the public. Attendees should bring a lawn chair if possible.
HISTORICAL SOCIETY: McDonald Historical Society will participate in the village’s Fourth of July Firemen’s Festival. Displays will be shown in the newly remodeled community room 6 to 9 p.m. today to Saturday. Admission is free. Many of the artifacts on display concern the history of McDonald.
