VITTLES IN VIENNA: The ”Vittles in Vienna” food taste is being planned 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 16 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road. The event is inviting vendors, organizations, groups, schools, churches and individuals to be part of the first-ever event. The purpose of the event is to for people to sell food specialty samples. Registration is being taken through Dec. 30 at 330-394-2461.

WATCH PROGRAM OFFERED: Liberty Township Senior Watch Program has been in existence for six years. There are now 136 seniors enrolled in the program that reaches out to senior residents in need. The program provides a multitude of services for the township services, including lock boxes, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. There are also daily welfare-check phone calls by township staff members. There is also an annual breakfast with police and fire officials. SHOE DRIVE UNDERWAY: In the spirit of the holidays, Austintown Podiatry Associates and Drs. Karlock, Flauto and Associates are holding their annual shoe drive, accepting new and gently worn shoes at all three offices 1300 S, Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown; 3802 Elm Road NE, Warren; and 7010 South Ave. Boardman. The shoes will be delivered to those in need.

CARRIAGE RIDES AND THE CLAUSES: A holiday community open house will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Lake Vista of Cortland, 303 N. Mecca St. The event will include horse-drawn carriage rides, Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday music, crafts and refreshments.

COOKIE WALK SET: Legacy Dog Rescue will a hold a Cookie Walk noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Austintown Family Video, 4385 Kirk Road. Proceeds will support efforts to help abused, neglected and abandoned dogs of Trumbull and Mahoning counties.

TNP HOLIDAY PARTY: Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership’s fifth-anniversary and holiday party will be 6 to 9 pm.Friday at the Saratoga Restaurant, 129 E. Market St., Warren.

HOLIDAY PLAY IN LABRAE: The LaBrae High School Drama Club will hold a Christmas play accompanied by dinner and musical entertainment 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The play is “Elves Anonymous,” written by LaBrae senior Joseph Jaros. Tickets are available 330-898-8599.

HISTORY SOCIETY BOOTH AT MALL: The Niles Historical Society will have a booth at the Eastwood Mall 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Dec. 16. The society will be selling various items for the holidays.

HUBBARD HOLIDAY DISPLAY: Hubbard merchants, businesses or organizations are invited to put up a decorated tree at the holiday festivities at the Hubbard municipal building. Trees will be displayed in the municipal building lobby and need to be up by Monday. For information, call 330-534-1133.

SANTA TO ARRIVE IN GIRARD: Girard Dairy Queen, 201 S. State St., will welcome Santa Claus by firetruck noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. Children will receive a free ice cream cone.
