Polish in the Valley

Some of the events sponsored by the heritage group Polish Youngstown include:

Holiday Spirit at Mill Creek Park. Polish Youngstown is one of 45 nonprofit groups that decorated a tree. The Polish Youngstown tree is trimmed with paper stars and straw ornaments from Poland.

Polish language classes for children, adults beginners, and adults who need a language refresher. Classes are held on Saturdays.

Polish cooking classes, offered monthly.

Polish Happy Hour is held every second Thursday at different locations featuring appetizers, Polish drinks and Polish-themed music from techno, rock, folk and jazz genres.

Polish Heritage Days takes place the last weekend of August, with Friday business lunch of Polish flavors; Saturday evening pierogi flavor buffet, pierogi eating contest and PieroGuy competition; and Sunday polka-inspired Catholic Mass with Polish hymns.
