Mission holds children’s event

WINTER FEST SET: The Warren Family Mission, 155 Tod Ave. NW, Warren, will hold a Winter Fest 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday for children up to age 14. There will face painting, activities, musical entertainment and Santa Claus.

RAILROAD TRAIN EXHIBIT: The Riverside Railroad Train Club, Mahoning Valley’s only public large-scale garden railroad club, will hold a Christmas open house 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Warren SCOPE, 220 W. Market St. There will be indoor train layouts in a holiday display.

HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE: Liberty Library Branch, 415 Churchill Hubbard Road, will host a free holiday open house 6 to 7 p.m. today. Holiday music provided by guitarist Tyler Guerrieri, with cookies and punch courtesy of the Friends of the Liberty Library.

WINTER CLOTHING COLLECTION: The Girard High School FIRST Robocats Robotics Team and Girard-Liberty Rotary are partnering for a winter clothing drive through Tuesday. New or gently worn coats, hats, gloves, scarves, sweaters and sweatshirts will be collected 3 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, Friday and Monday at high school office.

Clothing collected will be donated to those in need in the local community.

SANTA WORKSHOP AT LIBRARY: The Warren Trumbull County Library Main Branch will hold a Santa’s workshop 2 p.m. Saturday for ages kindergarten to eighth grade.

STORY TIME WITH MRS. CLAUS: Mrs. Claus and her elfettes will be part of ”Story Times with Mrs. Claus” Saturday and Sunday at Harriet Taylor Upton House in Warren.

Each child will have his or her picture taken with Mrs. Claus, decorate a frame for the photo, and make another holiday trinket. Mrs. Claus will read stories to and sings songs with the children. A “child-friendly” meal will be served, and each child will be given a treat from Mrs. Claus.

Adults will be served refreshments in the library as they listen to a historical message.
