Sutliff Museum plans open house
WARREN – Decorated for the summer holidays, the Sutliff Museum, located on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, will hold an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. July 19.
Sally Thomas, curator of the museum, said the museum is decorated for summer in patriotic colors and natural materials typical of Victorian decor.
She said among the special displays are seashells crafted into decorative items, an 1890s red damask tablecloth and patriotic figures.
Current exhibits for the summer months are document of the Sutliff family’s Underground Railroad work and display costumes of the Downton Abbey Era.
Refreshments and tours of the museum will be available at no cost to visitors of all ages.
The museum is operated by the Warren Library Association.
This summer the museum has been hosting trips to different locations. The next trip is planned for July 17 to two Sandusky Victorian homes with shopping in the historic downtown area. Tours will be held of the Maritime Museum and the Underground Railroad.
