Skeeter Fest to be held at park

FRIENDS GROUP HOSTS SKEETER FEST: The Friends of Mosquito Lake State Park in Bazetta will hold the first annual Skeeter Fest from 10 a.m. to 5 pm. Saturday at the park’s beach. The free “Fun Day at the Beach” event will include children’s games, crafts, sandcastle building contest from 10 a.m. to noon, children’s coloring contest at 2 p.m., Rock n Country Cloggers demonstration 2:30 p.m. and activities arranged by the park naturalist. GROUP HOLDS FINALE PROGRAM: Inspiring Minds will hold its summer enrichment program finale at 1 p.m. today with a talent show followed by an awards ceremony at 2 p.m. at Warren G. Harding High School cafetorium, 860 Elm Road N.E., Warren. The program will celebrate the 300 students and their summer accomplishments. During the free six-week program students participated in continuing education to prevent summer learning loss, art, sports, swimming lessons, yoga, community service, college visits, industry tours, cooking lessons, field trips and more.

AUTHOR TO SPEAK: Local author and paranormal investigator Steve Tackett will join Don Sutton, owner of Market Square in Kinsman, as they co-host “Ghost Night” at 8 p.m. Saturday at Market Square. Prior to the hunt, Tackett will give a brief talk about the difference between “ghost rescue” and “ghost hunting.” Ghost hunting equipment will be used to track the entities as they move through the building. EVP recordings from other hunts will be available for all to hear. Public is welcome to bring their own equipment.
