Scouts to host car show, cruise
SCOUTS HOST CAR SHOW: Boys Scouts Hartford Troop 90 will hold a car show and cruise in from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Hartford Center, state Routes 7 and 305.
Dash plaques will be given to the first 75 cars. Various trophies and awards will be presented. The event will include door prizes, 50 / 50 drawing, music and entertainment by deejay.
A registration donation supports the scouting programs.
CHURCH HOLDS YARD SALE: Central Christian Church, corner of East Market Street and Belvedere N.E., Warren, is planning a neighborhood yard sale for 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, with a rain date of July 19. The church will run a concession stand.

CLUB TO MEET WITH ENGINEERS: VEC Inc. will host a group of students from the Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown on Tuesday at its fabrication facility in Hubbard.
The students will learn about what each group does and the skill set and training needed to work in each field. They will also tour the fabrication facility to learn more about fabrication, pipe fitting and welding. Older students will be able to get a hands-on demonstration of some of the welding techniques.
Tim Callion from Local Union 396 is also attending to give a short presentation on the resurgence of skilled trades in the country and the requirements for admittance to the apprenticeship program.
ROCK CAMP FOR?GIRLS: Trumbull Community Action Program has partnered with Girlz Voices and the YWCA of Warren to host Girlz Rock Camp! Monday to July 20. The weeklong day camp for girls ages 7 to 17 in the Warren and surrounding area with no musical background.
Campers will learn how to play an instrument, write songs, sing and play as a band. Throughout the week, campers will participate in different workshops and enjoy numerous activities. The objective of the camp is to build self-esteem through musical performance.
The camp will conclude with a live performance from 3 to 5 p.m. July 20, in the auditorium at TCAP’s Warren West Community Center, 1230 Palmyra Road, Warren. For information, call Heather Jakubec at 330-974-5445.
SUMMER ART CAMP OFFERED: The annual summer arts day camp for children ages 8 to 12 will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday to Friday at the Butler Institute of American Art Trumbull Branch, 9350 E. Market St., Howland.

AIR BASE TO HOST FUNDRAISER: The Youngstown Air Reserve Base Community Council will hold the first annual Freedom Warrior Golf Outing on Aug. 22 at all three courses of Avalon Golf and Country Club. All proceeds will be used to support and fulfill the needs of wounded soldiers and disabled veterans throughout the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys, and support the education and other charitable efforts of the base council.
