Library group to host picnic

FRIENDS GROUP HOLD PICNIC ON LAWN: The Friends of the McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will hold the sixth annual community summer picnic on the lawn from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday. There will be free hot dogs, chips and refreshments. There will also be a raffle with more than 50 book-themed baskets of all varieties. There will be a concert on the lawn from 7 to 8:30 p.m. with Guys Without Ties.

WEEKLY FARMERS MARKET: Howland Township will hold its weekly farmers market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through October at the gazebo off East Market Street near the high school parking lot. GARDENING PROGRAM TO FEATURE CHICKENS: The Trumbull Master Gardeners will hold a program at 6 p.m. Wednesday on urban chickens. The event will be held at the Trumbull Agriculture Center, 520 W. Main St. in Cortland.

BAND SETS SCHEDULE: The Cortland Community Band will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Howland SCOPE Center and at 6 p.m. July 16 at the strawberry social hosted by the Bazetta-Cortland Historical Society at the Trumbull Agriculture Center, 520 W. Main St., Cortland.
