Annual tractor show planned

TRACTOR SHOW PLANNED: The 15th annual spring Antique Tractor Show will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 31 and June 1 at the tractor club grounds, 1653 Ridge Road, Vienna.

The event hosted by the Antique Tractor Club of Trumbull County will include antique tractor displays, games, events for children and raffles. Food will be available for purchase. Nonperishable food donations for Warren Family Mission are being accepted at the show.

CLOTHING DROP OFF SET: A clothing drop-off shed has been installed at Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel N.W., Warren, to collect useable clothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, linens, blankets and drapes for distribution throughout the world who can use the items.

The program is also a fundraiser for the church, which will receive four cents per pound of clothing collected. Donations are tax-deductible. Receipts are available on the shed which is located in the parking lot by the main entrance to the church.

GRANT PRESENTED: The Ruth Beecher Charitable Trust through the PNC Charitable Trust Grant Review Committee recently awarded Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc. a $3,500 grant to continue the work of the VIP Workplace program, which aims to change individuals and corporate attitudes and workplace and domestic violence. The coalition serves Mahoning and Trumbull counties.

FAMILY FARMER EVENT PLANNED: Geauga Family Farms, a cooperative of 10 certified-organic family farmers in Geauga County, is planning a Community Supported Agriculture program. Newton Falls-area members can pick up items at Healthy Treasures, 40 W. Broad St.

The CSA model provides a way for consumers to purchase local food directly from a farm by entering into a contract with the farmer. CSA members become partners with a farm by sharing of produce that is received weekly during the 20-week growing season from June through October.
