Mission seeks Easter donations
MISSION SEEKS DONATIONS FOR EASTER: The Warren Family Mission is planning for its annual Easter community dinner and is in need of ham donations. Items can be brought to either 361 Elm Road or 2671 Youngstown Road.
HELP HOTLINE SPONSORS PROGRAMS: The Help Hotline Crisis Center was the recipient of a $1,000 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week mini grant for community awareness projects from the state’s VIP Family Violation Prevention Coalition. Free events are being scheduled this week. “Domestic violence and the LGBTO Community will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, and “Abuse in Later Life” at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Area Agency on Aging, 5555 Youngstown Warren Road, Suite 2685, Niles. GLENBEIGH SETS EVENT: Glenbeigh Niles will hold the 12th annual spring banquet from 6 to 9:30 p.m. April 25 at Ciminero’s Banquet Center, 123 Main St., Niles. The event will include a 50-50 raffle, Chinese auction and deejay. For tickets, call 330-652-6770.

GROUP PLANS SESSIONS: GROWing Garden Leadership Workshop Series is being hosted by Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, which is a member of the Mahoning Valley Food Coalition. Filmmaker Dan Susman will take part in a question-and-answer session after viewing his film “Growing Cities.” The event will be held April 17 at two locations: at 3 p.m. at YSU Kilcawley Center’s Ohio Room and 6:30 p.m. at B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave. Youngstown.
EVENT SET ON HISTORY: The Cortland-Bazetta Historical Society will hold a Civil War program at 7:30 p.m. April 24 at the Opera House, 152 Park Ave., Cortland. The program is open to the public and will feature Thomas Jones of Medina, an expert on Civil War medals, presentation pieces and weapons.
EVENING WITH A PRESIDENT: A free program, “Evening with America’s First President” will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Greene Eagle Winery, 2576 Davis Peck Road, Cortland. Dale Fellows will portray George Washington followed by a question-and-answer session. Admission is free, but space is limited by calling 330-586-9463.
