Fairhaven to host egg hunt
FAIRHAVEN HOSTS EGG HUNT: FAIRHAVEN HOSTS EGG HUNT: A free community Easter egg hunt for children 12 and under will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Fairhaven School Niles campus, 420 Lincoln Way, Niles.
Activities include face painting, Easter bonnet contest for children and adults, music, photos with the Easter Bunny, and the hunt with more than 10,000 eggs and prizes. There will also be an area for children who are mobility challenged.
FARM GROUP TO MEET: The Trumbull County Food and Agriculture Committee will meet at 8 a.m. Friday at the Gustavus Federated Church. Scheduled speaker for the event is Curtis Thompson from BP, who will provide an update on oil and gas wells in the county and answer any questions from the group.
Anyone in rural Trumbull or adjacent counties with an interest in agriculture is welcome. Reservations are not needed. Members of the Gustavas Federated Church have served the event’s breakfast.
Purpose of the meetings is to provide educational information of interest to farmers and residents of the area.
FRIENDS GROUP TO MEET: Mosquito Lake Dog Park Friends will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the park ranger office in the Mosquito State Park, state Route 305, for the first meeting of the year. Anyone interested in helping with the dog park may attend. Volunteers are need to help with fundraising events.
FUNDRAISER SET: The Kyrsten Elizabeth Studer Foundation will hold Kyrsten’s Kloset from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at St. Patrick’s Parish Center, Hubbard. The event will include a prom dress drive, bake sale, Chinese auction. The event will showcase free prom dresses. The only requirement in receiving a dress is to sign a “Don’t Drink and Drive” pledge.
Proceeds from the event promote “Don’t Drink and Drive” and children and families in need. Donations will be accepted by calling Sarah at 330-261-5947 or Kristine at 330-540-1222.
YWCA HOSTS EVENT: The YWCA of Warren, 375 N. Park Ave., will hold a community health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. “Spring into Health” is funded by the Ohio Commission on Minority Health and will include blood pressure screenings, children’s activities, Zumba classes, prizes and health information.
The event is free.
